Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE: SEE) participated in today’s Economist Feeding the World event in Amsterdam addressing how packaging innovation can help improve food access, food security, and reduce food waste.
Sealed Air was a Gold sponsor of the Economist Feeding the World Event which took place on February 12, 2015. The event brought together industry leaders to drive actions to address important societal changes that must occur in order for the global issue of hunger to be resolved. Sealed Air’s VP of Sustainability, Dr. Ron Cotterman, spoke on a panel specifically discussing the innovations Sealed Air brings to the industries it serves that directly impact these issues. “We are aware of the challenges, and know that we must make change, but there are challenges to doing the right thing to bring about these changes. Sealed Air’s innovations in food packaging extend shelf life, which addresses food waste. Our cold chain solutions improve access to safe food, and our hygiene innovations improve food security. Together with our partners in the industry, and through consumer education, we can work together to address and improve the global food challenges we are facing.”
