Started by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1945, World Food Day is celebrated each year on October 16 around the globe as a way to promote awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and ensure food security.

In honor of World Food Day this year, President of Sealed Air Food Care, Karl Deily, and Vice President of Consumer Engagement for Compass Group, Amy Keister, hosted a Facebook Live event at the Sealed Air headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina to discuss common food waste misconceptions. This interactive live event made it possible for viewers to ask the hosts pressing questions about food waste, food insecurity and solutions that individuals can implement in their own homes to reduce food waste.

You can view the entire event in the video below or find the original posting on the Sealed Air Food Care Facebook page.
