Committed to Improving Our Operations
Our GHG emission reduction strategy focuses on a hierarchical approach of operational efficiency, technological improvements, and renewable opportunities. We are pursuing innovative ways to achieve higher levels of energy efficiency in our manufacturing facilities as well as reducing waste. We developed an energy and GHG emission profile for our highest energy intensive facilities. This helped us identify energy conservation measures, such as HVAC optimization, boiler upgrades, air compressors, lighting, and heat recovery. Training and behavioral change, as well as the use of cleaner energy sources, is also a critical component of our strategy to reduce emissions and generate substantial savings for our operations.
Helping Our Customers Improve Their Operations
Our solutions help our customers meet their goals for using fewer resources, less energy and water, and generating less GHGs and waste. We work with our suppliers and focus on the entire value chain of our products and our customers’ products and operations. This begins in our own operations with the management of raw materials and continues downstream to our customer operations and to the consumer. At the consumer level we focus on the full product lifecycle as well: energy, GHG and water reduction, the elimination of product waste, food damage and waste, and eventual disposal.

WWF Climate Savers
Sealed Air is proud to be a member of the WWF Climate Savers program, thanks to its commitment to reducing Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG’s in its operations and new product development.
WWF Climate Savers is a global program that positions companies as leaders of the low-carbon economy. Member companies take on two commitments: to become the best in class in reducing greenhouse gas emissions; and to influence market or policy developments by promoting their vision, solutions and achievements. WWF CS recognizes that cutting carbon emissions and spurring economic growth can go hand in hand. Members are proving it by tackling emission reductions in practical and profitable ways. With the support of WWF, CS members are cutting carbon emissions, generating economic growth and proving that climate leadership makes sense for business and for the planet.
As part of our membership in the WWF Climate Savers program, we have committed to several goals and initiatives. Sealed Air will advocate for climate change action and awareness. Sealed Air is currently investigating how renewable energy can contribute to its overall GHG reduction strategy. Several Sealed Air facilities are investigating on-site solar photovoltaics and the Company will continue to look for opportunities to expand renewable energy use. In order to facilitate these discussions, the Company hired dedicated energy managers throughout its operations and has recently become a signatory to the WWF-US’ Corporate Renewable Buyers’ Principles.
Sealed Air is recognized by CDP for our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the risks of potential climate change. We were awarded a position in the CDP Climate Performance Leadership Index (CPLI) A List, as well as the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) for the second year running, which puts us in the top 10% of Global S&P companies. We were also listed in CDP’s Supplier A-List.
Sealed Air has disclosed to CDP since 2006, and will continue to disclose GHG emissions, energy use and progress towards our goals on an annual basis to share our data, our management in climate change mitigation, and celebrate our achievements.
