At Sealed Air, celebrating our people and their accomplishments is a core part of our culture. In our “Meet: Our People” series, you’ll hear directly from our people across the globe on what it’s like working at SEE, and a little bit about them outside of work.
Where I am located: Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Length of time with SEE: 15 years
My workday consists of: Encouraging my team to perform at their absolute best. As a leader, this is what we should want: to have a team that performs better every year. I have great opportunities to get a glimpse of new technologies or market demands and help drive business to grow with inversions. I start most of the days asking what to expect about the inflation in the Latin America region for the month, how should we plan to offset it – and for all the nine countries that we do business with- it’s quite an operation.
I am grateful to have help from: Purchasing, Supply Chain, Pricing, Sales, and Marketing. It is an intense discussion and very fulfilling when we do have a positive result. We’ve had to work through some difficulties in recent years but, as a region, my colleagues make me so proud of the results we have delivered since I took my role a few years ago.
What I enjoy most about working at SEE is: The ability we have to discuss strategies with our leaders and to get an understanding of the vision of the company for the next few years. I always find it interesting, because finances are more related to numbers, results, KPIs and processes. Having this view and understanding motivates me to find new thinking models.
I feel passionate about the future at SEE because: Our business is changing. I believe it is exciting for people that do not like to sit and do the same thing every day. I do believe that changes, opportunities, new ways of thinking, and our culture is what brings us to a connected future!
Someone who was an important influence on my career was: So many that it is impossible to mention them all! One of the most influential was my mother and her simplicity in life. She wanted to see her daughter achieve independence that she could not have. Throughout my career, I was lucky to find the kind of people who gave me new opportunities – different from my daily activities – that made me expand my skills and my experience in ways that I can’t describe! I am very thankful for those people because it allowed me to see different perspectives. I was able to work with third parties on several special projects. Every time I move around the company, I feel “home” when going back to finance and Financial Planning & Analysis. I know, my career is not linear, and you know what? That is what I love the most!
Outside of work you can find me: You can’t! I adore traveling to new places, exploring new cities, and meeting new people. No matter how long I spend at a place I’m visiting, usually I leave behind somewhere else I wish to visit, like a village nearby or a museum. This gives me a reason to get back to that place. So, my travel list only increases as I have new places that have never been, but the old ones that were missing that little village, or café, or museum.
Outside of traveling, I love art crafts, plants (especially orchids! I have a collection – not many but when they bloom … oh my heart!) and lately, philosophy – even thinking about taking a graduation course!
