Chub packaging refers to a type of flexible packaging used primarily for food products, particularly ground meats, sausages, or pet foods. The packaging typically consists of a cylindrical plastic film tube held together at each end by metal or hard plastic clips and is made using vertical form fill seal equipment. 

Chub packaging can be vacuum-sealed to reduce oxidation and bacterial growth, which makes them popular in the food service industry as a cost-effective and efficient way to keep ground proteins as fresh as possible while refrigerated or frozen.

Made using the same equipment as chub packaging but in a flat pouch without the need for metal clips at the ends. CRYOVAC® clipless chubs are called “clipless vertical pouches” and can extend the shelf life of pumpable, solid foods up to 20 days.
