Meet: Adriana Ruiz, Executive Director Strategic Accounts

Where I’m located: Charlotte, N.C., U.S.A.

Length of time with SEE: 4 years.

At SEE, I am passionate about: The frequent opportunities to win through change, and tackling them with a diverse team that makes us stronger and sets us apart. In my career, this industry has taught me that if you work hard, you will be given the chance to grow. But being a woman makes it harder. I found plenty of roadblocks on the way because I was a young female engineer. However, I have been very lucky to work with leaders that believe in the value of diversity and created an environment where everybody’s opinions mattered.

For Women's History Month in March and International Women's Day on Tuesday, March 8, Adriana shared her story and how she’s working to break the bias as a member of our Gender Equity Network on our “Better Together SEE Podcast.”

My favorite memory from work is: Continuously solving a problem, developing a new material, equipment or service that positively impacts our customers. I feel very lucky to experience this in the front row from the strategic accounts chair. I cannot pick a favorite moment because, thankfully, we live these experiences very often!

I help our SEE Operating Engine by: Partnering with strategic customers to create a positive impact and shared value with bold automation, digital and sustainable solutions through long-standing commitments.

The core value that inspires me the most is Collaborative because: We operate based on mutual trust and encourage diverse thinking to achieve a common objective. This value is about more than just internal alignment...it is about powerful collaboration with our customers.

I was recently selected as part of the North American Meat Institute's Emerging Leaders Program. Through this partnership, I am looking forward to continuing to work toward a future where we are committed to sustainable innovation with the potential of creating a circular economy with zero waste taking care of the ecosystem that will serve our future generations. All of this done by producing safe and quality products, while taking care of the emotional and physical wellness of the people that invest their life to this industry.

My favorite hobbies are: Cooking and traveling the world with my husband.
