Meet: Graham Simpson – Credit & Collections Manager U.K., IE, Kevothermal™ & APS

Where are you located? St. Neots, U.K.  

How long have you been at SEE?   8 years.  

My career path to my current role was:   I began my career at SEE as Diversey U.K. Credit Control Team Leader based in Northampton. After a year or so and the sale of that division¹, I was promoted to my current Credit & Collection Manager position for SEE U.K. & Ireland in St. Neots, with the further acquisitions of Kevothermal^™ and APS² (Automated Packaging Systems) now also falling under my responsibility.  

What’s your favorite part of your position?  The thing I enjoy the most is the people. I work closely with a wide range of very kind, helpful, and motivated individuals, spread across the U.K., Europe, and the globe. All working hard together to achieve targets in a safe and happy working environment.   

Growing up, was there someone in your life that inspired you to become who you are today?  My biggest inspiration in life has always been my dad. He worked tirelessly both at work and for charity. He was always caring, looking out for others who were less fortunate, or sharing his knowledge and trying to inspire. He would often remind me that more often than not to get what you want, you have to learn more or work harder. Although he never pushed me to be a credit manager, he was a corporate bank manager...so maybe my love of numbers and hatred of debt is his fault!

Do you have any hobbies or activities you like to do outside of the office?  I coach my sons U12 Sunday football team, as well as play taxi driver for him on Saturdays for his Academy team. When I am not by the side of a football pitch, I am most often found in a forest walking my dog. 

What advice do you have for people looking to start their careers or become leaders today?  Believe, Achieve, Succeed and remember nothing worthing having comes easy!
