At SEE, celebrating our people and their accomplishments is a core part of our culture. In our “Meet: Our People” series, you’ll hear directly from our people across the globe on what it’s like working at SEE, and a little bit about them outside of work.
Where are you located? Alsfeld, Germany.
How long have you been at SEE? Almost 24 years.
My career path to my current role was: I started in production in 1999. I spent my first six years as an operator in converting and then later as an extruder operator. From 2005 until 2008, I was the team leader of the Extrusion Department in Alsfeld. In 2009, I was promoted to production manager and in 2014 I become responsible for Alsfeld Plant operations. My role was extended in 2016 to cover our medical plant in Norderstedt (Germany) and in 2018 my role was extended to other manufacturing locations like Belluco (Italy), IBERIA (Abrera & Nazare), and later Aneby (Sweden). My last promotion was 1st of May 2023 to EMEA Industrial and Fulfillment Executive Director.
What’s your favorite part of your position? Working with other departments and colleagues. I enjoy projects where we see positive change and improvement for employees and our company.
The advice I would give to new employees is: You are working for one of the best companies in the world. You should be patient and never give up. The company will always support you as a human and employee.
What advice do you have for people looking to start their careers or become leaders today? Two simple guides for way of life and life of work. First, always believe in yourself and never give up. The second key for career growth is “every day to ask yourself what you can do better for others around you.”
Don’t lose any time asking what the company or others can do differently. You should ask yourself always what you can do better for others (without giving up). This is my way of life.
Growing up, was there someone in your life that inspired you to become who you are today? I am most proud of my younger self. The hardships I faced as a young person helped me to develop into who I am today.
When I was 17, I lived in former Yugoslavia, Europe, when the war started. Part of my life where I have war experience; I learned how quickly everything can be changed and become difficult. During that time, I learned how important it is to work hard for yourself and for others to make the world better for all people. Fortunately, when I was 18, I went from Yugoslavia to Germany as a refugee and this life experience inspired me always to be positive and try to help all humans where I can.
Do you have any hobbies or activities you like to do outside of the office? I like hiking and cycling in nature. I also enjoy visiting old historical towns and meeting other people and cultures.
